Letter from Mario Vargas Llosa to Second Skin Theatre, regarding the company’s production of LA CHUNGA
“I can’t tell you how grateful I am for the wonderful job you have done with La Chunga. I was thrilled with the staging. I liked everything, starting with the premises at the Phoenix Artist Club—they looked as if they had been purposefully built for the play. The actors, the general conception behind the representation as well as the subtlety with which each scene is construed work exceedingly well and confer depth, delicacy and creative heights to the story.
“Nothing would please me more than your being able to stage the play in other places, as you are hoping to do—I am sure your work would be received with enthusiasm everywhere. Please convey my congratulations and my warm gratitude to all the actors and the other folks involved in the staging of La Chunga.”
